This was by far one of the prettiest DIY Boho weddings I have photographed. Conrad & Mareli worked together with friends and family to create a truly amazing wedding day at Habonim in Onrus. This was a true Bohemian Music Festival.
How Conrad proposed: “We were on holiday in Turkey with friends, we spend the day on the beach in Olympos and Conrad wanted to see the view from the hill, we spent a few minutes up the hill admiring the beautiful view, when he told our friends that he just wants to take a photo, we will meet them down below. I thought something was up, but when he reached for his pocket and took out his phone, I thought that I was just being silly, he told me to grab my things and when I turned around he was on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
They are two creative souls; Mareli is the owner of Troufees, and Conrad the owner of Silkscreen Company.
Feast your eyes on this beautiful wedding.

Classic, elegant and hopelessly romantic – the words that describe Gunther & Nicola’s wedding.
I just love how Gunther proposed to Nicola: “Gunther booked a weekend away at Platbos Log Cabins in the Slanghoek Valley near Rawsonville. He cooked & set up a romantic dinner for two on the deck over-looking the lake. The deck was decorated with fairy lights and on the table, candles and champagne. When it came to desert time, he surprised me with the ring wedged in the Malva pudding and went down on one knee and proposed to me.”
They chose to get married at the Waldorf School in Stellenbosch – it is a beautiful setting for intimate weddings.
A few tips from the bride:
-Keep a file with all your receipts, emails, quotes and follow up every discussion with service providers EVERYTHING in writing.
-Delegate to friends and family who want to help.
-Do not compromise on your photographer. Get the best you can afford!

I met up with Juan & Margi at Kalkbay for their engagement session. They are two beautiful people!
Sam & Carine have been together for 13 years already when they got married at the beautiful Bosduifklip.
I loved their down-to-earth and natural set-up. It was a true celebration of ‘them’.
Having the privilege to photograph weddings on the farm that I grew up, is a true honour and always a lot of fun. 🙂

“I think one of the biggest deciding factors was watching my dog, Tori, get more excited to see John than she was to see me!”
John & Padi’s elegantly simple, rustic and DIY wedding at Olive Rock – what a stunning setting!
“I always said that I would hate to be proposed to on some fancy holiday or at some fancy place, because I would know something is up as we are both such laid back people. So instead, John waited for me to book a holiday away, which just happened to be over our 4 year anniversary. We had gone to Golden Gate in the Northern Drakensburg. It was freezing cold and John insisted that we go hiking despite me not wanting to go. On our hike, we got to this beautiful sandstone cliff face and while I was staring up at the cliff, John got down on one knee in front of me.”

It was a beautiful morning in Franschhoek for Carlo & Nicolette’s engagement session 🙂
What a joy to know Alwyn & Jenna. They wanted me to capture who they are as a couple for their engagement shoot, and they were so much fun to photograph!
Alwyn is an avid surf photographer himself, and teaching Jenna as well – people after my own heart 😉
Beyond excited for their wedding at Bosduifklip in May!
